Statistical Analysis and Countermeasures for Specimen Rejection in the Emergency Department

The rejected specimens from the Emergency Department of Center Clinical Laboratory January 1, 2022 to 2023 were analyzed reduce specimen rejection rates and improve quality inspection. results showed that there 1488 samples non-conforming rate was 0.58%. departments involved mainly Department, Hematology Cardiology Intensive Care Brain Surgery Department. Among reasons for rejection, blood hemolysis accounted 43.15%, coagulation 26.61%, insufficient 17.14%. them, sample arterial gas analysis highest, which 1.74%; followed by test, 1.18%. These indicate main reason producing is due not following standard operating procedure. Specimen can largely be avoided if standards collection are strictly followed.
